ABANDONED BURIAL GROUND, MORGANVILLE, TOWN OF STAFFORD
This abandoned burial ground is about 200 feet northeast of the Morganville Cemetery. No veterans were buried there according to the 1926 survey made by the Sons of the American Revolution. It is now part of a pasture and only one stone remains with lettering on it. This stone is broken and the remaining pieces read:

".....was drowned July 12, 1818, @ 26y.

Behold and see as you pass by

As you are now so once was I

As I am now soon you must be

Prepare yourself to follow me."

The remainder of the stone is missing and no name can be found.
