Herman, son of John Gursslin, a denizen of Lockport, came to the United States from Germany in 1855. His wife was Elizabeth Woulthman, of Germany and their children were Henry, Richey, Mary, Herman, Carrie, Rose, Matilda, Minnie, and Ella. Henry was seven years old when he came with his father from Bremen to Lockport. He came to Oakfield in 1882. He married Mary, daughter of Seth and Adaline (Luther) Ransom, of Shelby, NY. and their chldren were Albert (deceased), Nettie E., and Reuben W. Mr. Gursslin has recently removed to Alabama, in this county.
